Mercer Meyer, Monsters and More

You may remember these books from your childhood since Mercer Meyer began writing and illustrating his books in 1966 and has 300 published titles.  Well guess what, toddlers still love them!  I have read these books over and over again and both Jack and Nora adore them.  Maybe it’s the cute little critters, or the fact that kids can conquer their worst fears, but these books stand the test of time.  In fact, I still get a kick out of them, so I guess there isn’t really an age limit.

Mercer Mayer is famous for his Monster and Little Critter series.  There are tons of social/moral lessons in his children’s books including lessons on; sharing, getting along with people, having a new baby in the house, and conquering your worst fears.
