Best Homemade Granola Bar Recipe (No Bake)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup almond butter (I used peanut butter)
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds (I used whole almonds)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • salt and cinnamon to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the oats, almond butter, sliced almonds, mini chocolate chips, honey, salt and cinnamon.  Stir until well combined

  2. Line an 8*8 inch pan with parchment paper, allowing the paper to fall over the edges.  Press the oat mixture into the pan

  3. Place in the freezer for 45 minutes to an hour, or until firm.  Remove paper from pan then cut the large square in half.  Cut each half into six rectangles.  Wrap bars individually with parchment paper or plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator or freezer.

Adult Tasks

  1. Measured out some of the more difficult ingredients, like the honey.  Helped my son spoon peanut butter into the mixture, very sticky for him. Helped my kids line the pan with parchment paper.

Kid Tasks

  1. Measuring and adding the ingredients.  Stirring until well combined.  Putting in the parchment paper and then pressing the mixture into the paper until it is flat and fills all the corners.
