On The Go Cereal Balls

These cereal balls are essentially just dump, mix and form! No baking required. A toddler can make the whole thing from start to finish if you and they want to!

I really like the idea of using cheerios to make a quick and easy snack. I saw a video on Tasty Jr. recently for No-Bake Cereal Bars, and I made them together with my kids – but they were super messy and unless fresh out of the freezer they were gooey and fell apart completely. I was much happier with the results of this recipe, which comes courtesy of The Young Chef by Mark Ainsworth.

To make this recipe you’ll need 3 cups of cereal, 3/4 cup peanut butter, 3/4 cup nonfat powdered milk, 1/2 cup honey and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract.

These cereal balls kept well in the fridge, wrapped in wax paper and put into a large Ziploc. They held together and were yummy for breakfast the next morning.

Little Miss Two loved this stuff but Mister Four only nibbled. I enjoyed eating it but only in small quantities since they are pretty rich with all that peanut butter and honey!

Little Miss Two preferred making it into a pancake instead of a cereal ball, so the balls you see pictured were formed by myself.

For some other recipes that a toddler can (mostly) make on their own, try these Veggie and Hummus Pitas or this Berry-Melon Breakfast Sundae.
